Bill and Paulette are often asked, "How did a high school science teacher (Bill) and a physician (Paulette) get into the painting business?" Great question!!
It all started with a baby boy. In 2003, Paulette was pregnant and traveling frequently with her cancer research job. However, she wanted to be a stay at home mom. So she retired.
With the loss of her income, they needed another source to make ends meet. Bill had painted part-time when he was younger, so in addition to a son, Welch Paint Company was born. What started as a part-time gig has evolved into a family business where they work side-by-side -- even the kids help out -- as they learn about entrepreneurship.
Bill completed 30 years with Cabarrus County schools and now enjoys his commitment to Welch Paint Company as owner, estimator, and project manager. Paulette homeschools the youngest 2 out of 3 children while also handling the company finance and marketing.
Oh, and that son who prompted the entire adventure? He is now their social media director!
One thing that hasn't changed over the years -- their goal to provide clients with trusted professionals to beautify and protect their largest investment -- their home!!
